Our book club runs on a simple monthly cycle designed to keep things fair, engaging, and easy for everyone to participate. At the beginning of each month, members are invited to suggest books they would like the group to read. Suggestions can come from any genre, and members are encouraged to share titles they’re excited about or curious to explore. Once suggestions are collected, they are compiled into a shortlist that will move on to the voting phase.

Voting typically opens shortly after the suggestion period ends. Each member can cast a vote for the book they’d most like the club to read that month. Depending on the size of the shortlist, voting may allow one vote per member to keep the process simple and balanced. The book that receives the most votes becomes the official selection for that month’s reading.

After the winning title is announced, members have the rest of the month to read the book at their own pace. Throughout the cycle, discussion threads may open so members can share thoughts, favorite passages, questions, and reactions as they go. Toward the end of the month, we host a main discussion where everyone can talk about the book as a group and reflect on the overall experience.

Each new month begins the process again with fresh suggestions, a new vote, and a new book to explore together. The goal is to create a welcoming space where everyone has a voice in what we read while keeping the rhythm predictable and easy to follow. Whether you read every page or just join the conversation, you’re always welcome to participate in the way that works best for you. 📚
